What is Nearpod?

Nearpod offers 20+ formative assessments as well as dynamic media features to design engaging lessons and activities. Additionally, you’ll have access to 3 different teaching styles, including Live Participation, Student-Paced and the Front of Class.

How to use Nearpod as a student?

Students don’t require accounts to be able to use Nearpod. When you begin your lesson, you’ll be able to launch the lesson with a five-letter code. You can share the code with your students or post the lesson using your LMS for learning (LMS), like Schoology, Google Classroom, Canvas and Microsoft Teams. If you have a district or school Premium Plus account, Student Accounts is an option you are able to enable. If you choose to activate Student Accounts, all of the student account details and submissions will be stored within the district or school account and will be fully controlled by your district or school administrator.

Does Nearpod cost money?

No. Nearpod Silver is a free license that includes all the basic features required to begin using the platform. To unlock all the potential that Nearpod has, you must ask for a quote or request the opportunity to test the most popular type of license, Premium Plus for districts and schools.

Are there limits to how many students can join a Nearpod lesson?

For accounts with Silver (free accounts), up to 40 students may join each lesson. If you have a district or school account with Premium Plus that can accommodate up to 250 students, you are able to join each lesson.

Can I use a Nearpod lesson to assign homework or independent student work?

Nearpod is fantastic for self-directed work! It is easy to launch the lesson using Student-Paced mode and then share the code to your students via email or through your LMS.

How can I check what type of Nearpod account I have?

Log in to Nearpod and click on your avatar at the top right-hand corner. You’ll be able to view the details of your account under your profile.

Can I use Nearpod with video conferencing?

If you’re providing live instruction using an online video conference tool, Nearpod is a fantastic opportunity to get instant insights into the learning process of students and to provide an engaging, interactive experience.

Can I use single sign-on for Nearpod?

Yes! You can use Google, Office 365, Clever, or ClassLink SSO to log in to Nearpod. If you’re using Google as well as Office 365, simply go to nearpod.com/login and then choose your SSO option. If you are using Clever and ClassLink, Add the app from Nearpod to your account portal. Click nearpod’s icon, and you’ll be signed in automatically!
